Day 13: Standing Desks

Yesterday, I woke up and weighed myself. Weight is: 84.1Kg. Yesterday I consumed 41 calories over my BMR and did 150 calories of exercise above my BMR. Total deficit is 109 calories. Today, I woke up and weighed myself. Weight is: 84.4Kg. Yesterday I consumed 41 calories over my BMR and did 0 calories of exercise above my BMR. Total deficit is 109 calories. I did some work around the house, but pretty much stuck myself inside for the day. Blog posts may not happen every day, but I will still write some and of course record my food and exercise for the day. According to this site www.startstanding.org, I burn an extra 60 calories standing instead of sitting every hour. You can play around with the inputs and see where you fit in. For me, standing for 3 hours is a pretty easy way to burn an extra 180 calories. To encourage standing, I simply raise my desk just before I go to bed (I work from home). That means it is already up when I get to it in the morning. It’s easier to just stand then it is to lower it and start working. There are many options for standing desks. I got mine from Ikea. There is the standupdeskstore, and Staples. You can get a converting desk or a converter. It’s up to you. You could even just build your own.
